Artist Statement
 

I am a Washington, DC based visual artist working in both abstraction and representation across painting, photography, and mixed media.

My work centers on the significance of space, both physical and emotional, and how environments can shape and reflect internal states. I am interested in the tension between belonging and isolation and the relationship between our inner and outer worlds. I consider the isolation and convergence of relationships, how people can be close yet disconnected or distant yet still connected, and the underlying dynamics of these experiences, and how they are carried through our lives.

In my abstract work, space becomes less literal. I use layering, color, and composition to suggest environments that are felt rather than defined. These compositions invite interpretation, and I am interested in how viewers understand and relate to the work, often offering insightful perspectives.

I aim to create work that feels familiar, or inviting, where viewers can recognize something of their own experience.​
